Maya's Public Profile
Maya Fisher-French is a well-known South African finance writer and author of Maya on Money: Implement Your Money Plan – a practical guide to everyday finances.
Maya won the Sanlam Award for Excellence in Financial Journalism under the category of Consumer Financial Education for both 2013 and 2015.
Apart from managing the Maya on Money website, she is editor of My Money My Lifestyle, the personal finance section of national Sunday newspaper City Press and is a frequent guest on talk-radio shows and a popular speaker at corporate events. Maya also presents the Money Matters segment on eNCA which airs every day on DSTV 403.
In 2006 she received the award for Best Newcomer in the Sanlam Journalist of the Year awards for articles published in business magazine Maverick. Prior to becoming a financial journalist in 2003, Maya worked in the financial industry for a stock broking firm BJM prior to which she worked for Investec Private Bank.
Maya has a Bachelor of Arts in English and an Honours degree in Economics from the University of the Witwatersrand.
