Attend your medical scheme’s AGM – and win

by | May 10, 2013

CMS Campaign PosterAttend your medical scheme’s Annual General Meeting, answer two easy questions using the Facebook and Twitter accounts of the Council for Medical Schemes (CMS), and stand a chance to have your scheme contributions paid for three months.

The CMS recently launched a healthcare consumer education campaign and competition to encourage medical scheme beneficiaries to become more involved in the affairs of their respective schemes.

How to enter the competition

First, attend your scheme’s AGM. Find out from your medical scheme when their AGM will be held or find details on the CMS website.

Second, like CMS on Facebook and/or follow them on Twitter.

Third, answer the following two questions on the CMS Facebook page or Twitter account:

  1. To which regulator should you report the unethical or illegal conduct of your healthcare provider, such as your doctor or specialist?
  2. If your medical scheme refuses to cover your guaranteed benefits and the dispute remains unresolved after you tried to reach an agreement with your scheme, to which regulator should you turn for help?

 Competition rules

  • CMS management, staff, suppliers, and their families may not participate in the competition.
  • Proof of medical scheme membership (a copy of your medical scheme card) as well as of your attendance at the AGM is needed to enter the competition. Proxy votes unfortunately do not qualify.

Read more about the campaign and competition on the CMS website.

The competition closes on 31 August 2013, and winners will be notified by 17 September 2013.
