Momentum Financial Wellness Competition winner

by | Jan 7, 2015

Momentum My Financial WellnessMonday was the last day for the Maya on Money/ Multiply competition and congratulations go to our winner Afika Soyamban who will receive R2 500 in Dis-Chem vouchers.

After completing the Momentum financial wellness assessment Afika committed to drawing up a will after scoring poorly on the estate planning section of the assessment. The report, issued by Momentum, recommended that he draw up a will that included selecting a guardian to care for his children should they be left without a parent. The assessment also found that Afika was under insured for household contents as well as disability cover. Like many young people, Afika’s biggest asset is his future income and he needs to ensure that he has financial protection if he is unable to work.

Although the competition is over, the free Momentum Financial Wellness Programme remains available to the general public, however members of Multiply, the wellness and rewards programme offered by Momentum, can earn additional points for completing the questionnaire.

Apart from receiving discounts on lifestyle activities such as gym membership, airfares and accommodation, Multiply members can also qualify for up to 60% discount on their Momentum life insurance policy and up to R5 400 per year in HealthReturns.

HealthReturn rewards

Momentum Health’s HealthReturn rewards are a great way to extend your medical savings. Momentum’s HealthSaver works in conjunction with the Momentum medical aid product. It enables Multiply members to claim for healthcare expenses in the same way they would for benefits covered by their medical aid option, with no transaction or admin fees.

HealthReturns are determined by a Multiply Member’s health assessment and activity level. Members can choose to receive their HealthReturns in their bank account, or in their medical savings account, called a HealthSaver. Momentum’s HealthSaver lets you save for additional day-to-day medical expenses that are not covered by your medical aid option.

So, if you are a Multiply member, hold a medical aid policy with Momentum and are active and dedicated to living a healthy lifestyle, you can save up to R 5 400 a year. This can be done by:

  • Undergoing a health assessment at any Dis-Chem store.
  • If the results of your health assessment show elevated risk levels, the Scheme may recommend further tests or advise you to register on a Chronic Disease Management Programme and to adhere to the prescribed treatment protocols, including taking your medication as prescribed.
  • Getting active. You can earn HealthReturns based on:
    • The number of steps you take per month (measured by your Momentum pedometer).
    • The number of gym visits you make in a year.
    • The results of a six-monthly fitness assessment, based on your physical activity rating at Virgin Life Care.
    • Your Multiply FitTrack Indexâ„¢ score
