Financial Planning Week: 25-29 August
CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERĀ® professionals Craig Torr, Paul Rossouw, Ian Beere and Laverne Slater will be giving four free financial planning workshops in Cape Town onĀ 26, 27 and 28 August, as part of Financial Planning Week in conjunction with the Financial Planning Institute of Southern Africa.
On Tuesday 26 and Thursday 28 August, Certified Financial Planners from Veritas Wealth will offer valuable financial guidance to 20 to 35-year-olds on “Getting You on the Right Track”. Covered in this workshop will be issues like What is the Smartest Way to Buy a Car, When to Jump On the Property Ladder, and Being on the Right Side of Compound Interest.
Another group who are easy prey for creditors are people in the lower-income sector like domestic workers and gardeners, who in addition to facing a barrage of consumerism are often supporting extended families. Fluent in Xhosa and Afrikaans as well as English, Torr will give a workshop specifically geared toward this audience on Tuesday 26 and Wednesday 27 August. Torr will talk about the dark side of credit, and give accessible advice about budgeting, the cost of debt and saving efficiently. Financial consultants will be on hand after the presentation for one-on-one discussions.
All workshop attendees will receive an Attendee Workbook, covering the various areas discussed in detail, and a pocket-book-sized personal Monthly Budget Planner.
Financial Planning Week is a national initiative of the Financial Planning Institute of Southern Africa, during which CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERĀ® professionals give of their time to help set South Africans on the right financial path.
